New Beginnings

Chorlton Water Park

Location: River Mersey, Chorlton Water Park, Manchester

Hello readers! I am back again with a cheeky little life update and this time well, it's a big one. The first thing I can say is that I am now twenty-four years of age (yikes), as of 21st May! I did plan on posting a little 'hey guys it was my birthday' before June rolled in, but with the terrible events of May 22nd which happened here in Manchester, I understandably wasn't in a very chatty-blog-post-place at the time. I did think however it was time to fill you guys in with what I've been up to, as I've definitely had a little break from the blog in the past few months, just because I've been a little more busy and basically I've been living at work.

So what's new? Well I mentioned my birthday, which was a really fun weekend filled with presents, cake and friends - the BEST combination. On the Saturday of my birthday weekend I headed up to Leeds for a bit of a shopping trip (basically hyperventilated then picked up everything in the Victoria's Secret Pink store) as I wanted to get out of Manchester for the day and I've never really been to Leeds. I know that sounds kind of crackers being that I'm such 'the proud northerner', but seriously, apart from a university open day when I was seventeen and Leeds Festival (which is obviously away from the centre) I've never properly been. So I thought I'd head up, I usually go to Liverpool so it made a nice change, and Leeds pleasantly surprised me! It is a little gem of entertainment, architecture and pretty green spaces and I definitely want to go back again soon!

For the evening I was back down in Manchester and had a really fun night out in the Northern Quarter. I don't really go clubbing these days so, this may sound kind of sad, but it was a really big deal for me. I bought an entire new outfit, spent like two hours getting ready and we all met at Turtle Bay because well, two for one cocktails - need I say more. I got a *lot* of comments on my outfit which made me feel just about as sassy as Beyonce, and then later on we headed to Walrus as myself and the people I was out with all love hip-hop/R&B. As you can imagine there was a lot of slut dropping and I kind of felt like I was in Nelly's Hot In Here music video (just with clothes on not an actual bikini ffs).

Sunday was my actual birthday which was a lot more chilled out than the Saturday had been. I saw a few friends briefly and had afternoon tea at my grannies which was lovely. I got some absolutely amazing presents and by the evening I was feeling very tired, and very loved. It was a great birthday, and one I'll no doubt remember for years to come.

Turning twenty-four is not the only change in my life though. I've also quit my job as a Barista and landed myself a place on an awesome graduate scheme for a charity. This means that from July I'll be heading back to university studying for a PGCE, and in September I will begin teaching English in a secondary school - something that right now I'm very nervous but very excited about! It also means that I'll be moving away and starting a new chapter somewhere else, although still staying in my beloved north west region of the country. I'm so happy to finally be able to share this news as I've worked really hard to get to this point (sorry to those few of you that have had to put up with my stressing over my preparation for my interview and my exams) and I'm so ready for what lies ahead. The chapter I'm embarking on is going to be tough, challenging and will need my full commitment, and I can't wait to fully embrace the next two years of my life.

So there you have it, my big news! Expect to see me document my time beginning university, my new job and of course the big move on here! It's going to be a huge summer and I'm so glad I can finally share it with you guys! Until next time readers, TTYL!
