It's February! I actually love this month because it means you can officially start getting excited for Spring, lighter evenings and of course - Easter eggs yassss! This year I'm feeling really motivated because I know exactly what I want to achieve and I'm determined to finish the year feeling like I accomplished a lot. If you followed my blog over Christmas, you'll know I set myself quite a few goals for 2017, so I wanted to fill you guys in with how I've made a start to them and what I plan on getting up to this month!
Blogging and the Youtube channel
One of my main goals this year is to really push my blogging and get a little bit more noticed. I really want to reflect myself more into my blog, by doing more little personal posts like this, as well as actually including more pictures of myself on here. It's really strange because I'm a quite a confident person and I spend so much time on my appearance, but then I realised most of my blog contains pictures of places and scenery rather than me, the blogger. I managed to put together a winter fashion post, and published quite a bit of content through January. I've also been putting a little more effort into Twitter and Instagram lately in a bid to up my followers and feel more a part of the community. As for Youtube? I managed to make a channel and I have my first video live too, although this February I plan to release a vlog!
This must literally be everyone's goal right now but I really want to get back to eating better and rejoining the gym. When I think back to university, I always describe myself as really unhealthy because of the amount of alcohol I was drinking - and cigarettes I was smoking. This was really bad, but I was also eating pretty clean, drinking copious amounts of green tea and heading to the gym about three times a week. I by no means recommend that lifestyle - it was pretty unbalanced, but I do want to get back into my motivated mentality. I've decided this month to get back my gym membership and purchase some cute gym clothes. I'm determined to start eating better and working out again!
The 'Booket' List
Last year I set myself a goal of reading twenty books - it didn't happen. This year my aim is thirty, so I'm really trying to make some time for reading. I've been trying to set down a spare half an hour (at least) a day for reading instead of going on my laptop or watching T.V, and even heading to the library now and again on my day off. This year I've managed to finally finish 'I Am Malala' which was a great book but I found hard to stay with, and I also read 'Morvern Callar' which was short but I loved it. I've now moved on to Lolita, so I'm pretty happy with my progress so far and plan on finishing it soon and starting something new. If you want to keep up with my progress, you can follow me on Goodreads here.
Book My Driving Lessons!
Finally! I can't believe I'm twenty-three and don't have a driving license but let me tell you, it is a nightmare. It's the biggest inconvenience in my life because if I want to head further afield on a weekend I have to check trains and pray they don't transfer me on to a "rail replacement coach service" *shudders* or even just nipping to someone's house that's a 15 minute drive away turns into a 45 minute journey to get there. Roll on driving lessons and hopefully soon - a driving license!
