Hi guys! It feels like so long since I shared a beauty post on here, but if you know anything about me, you should know that I am beauty and cosmetic obsessed. From bath bombs to body lotions, fake tan to body shimmers, I don't even understand where I keep it all, but the good news is every Christmas I know my stash will be restocked once more. This year, my loved ones were rather generous and I received everything from an electric toothbrush to a cleansing face brush (my skin feels like I've just been born) and enough shower gel and bath goodies to last me until Christmas 2017. So feeling a bit of inspiration for my blog coming on, I've decided to share with you just a few of what I got including my favourite gift sets, oh and of course - some Lush stuff has been thrown in there for good measure!
Joules Body Care Set
First up is this beautiful Joules Body Care set which contains a body scrub, body butter, body lotion and a body wash. I love these kind of products, especially because I like using fake tan and these will be perfect for keeping my skin on top form. Everything in here is very fresh and floral smelling, and I love the fact that this gift was presented in this gorgeous little tin. I'm actually obsessed with the scent, look and idea of cherry blossom - if I ever accomplish my dream of going to Japan you will find me just frolicking under the sakura trees like a mad woman. After using these products, I'll definitely be using the tin for baking or just to put tea bags in, it's too pretty to throw away!
Joy To The World Gift Set, Lush Cosmetics
You may or may not know that I used to work for Lush Cosmetics so naturally I am a huge fan of the brand. This little gift I received as a stocking filler, and as you can see it was beautifully wrapped in gold and white gift wrap. The gift came with a small pot of the ultimate body lotion - Dream Cream, a soothing cream which contains chamomile and organic cocoa butter and lightly moisturises the skin with serious results. The gift also contained this very cute slab of Santa's Postbox soap which smells amazing, made with citrus oils and satsuma it definitely wakes you up in the morning!
Happy Christmas Gift Set, Lush Cosmetics
Happy Christmas is definitely a party set with its bright colours and acid house smiley faces decorating the box. When I opened it to peek inside, neon green pom poms and a string of smiley face bunting sat on top of the products which I thought was a very nice and unexpected touch. Inside was The Comforter shower cream, a thick and fruity shower cream that smells like Vimto bon bons (seriously), Green Fun which is a lime scented play dough that you can wash with and a slab of Shooting Stars soap, which keeps to the rave theme containing neon stars. There was also a pot of Christingle body conditioner which nourishes the skin and leaves a minty tingle (that will be interesting) and finally salt and peppermint bark - and you guys know I'm a sucker for a body scrub.
Snow Fairy Shower Gel, Lush Cosmetics
Ahhh Snow Fairy you delicious candy-floss pear drop bottle of goodness. Of course when being asked what I wanted for Christmas this one went straight to my list, and even though I modestly asked for just a medium bottle, the person who got me this went straight in and got me the largest size which I was of course super happy about. If you haven't tried Snow Fairy, where have you been!? It makes your skin and hair smell beautiful (although I don't recommend washing your hair with shower gel on a regular basis it's fine for special, magical occasions) and it's pink and glittery! One girl who I used to work with at Lush even told me she hand washed her bedding in it because she loved the smell so much. That's how you know Snow Fairy is amazing.
B. Flawless Finish Set
A girl can never have enough makeup brushes or beauty blenders these days for that matter, so I was very happy to find this under the tree on Christmas morning. B. brushes are completely vegan and cruelty free, and the set comes complete with five fluffy brushes and a blender. I love having fresh brushes for the new year so I'm super excited to start using these ones!
Maybelline Baby Merry Kissmas Gift Set
I, have a confession. You may have heard this, to some it may shock. I'm a lip balm addict. It started when I was about ten. I used to buy those Smackers lip balms from Claire's Accessories, you know the ones that come in Coca Cola and Sprite flavours? And then...over time, as it got harder to satisfy the cravings, I moved on to tins of Vaseline. Now, I can't even leave the house without some sort of balm or gloss on my lips. I admit, I have a problem. So, it's no wonder I received two of these little sets for Christmas! The cherry one is definitely my fave.
Bubbly, Reindeer & Robin Fun and Santa's Belly Shower Jelly
Finally I received these three little Lush Cosmetics Christmas products which include Bubbly, a Bucks Fizz shower gel that smells so tangy and beautiful, Fun which can be used as bubble bath, shampoo and shower gel (or just building stuff... which I will probably have a crack at) and shower jelly which is lovely for washing skin with as it moisturises and smells amazing!
Phew! I'm so grateful and lucky with how spoilt I was for Christmas this year! I love all my gifts and in particular the beauty products that I've been given, they're definitely going to get me through the rest of January and help me feel upbeat despite the cold weather (and the pale, transluscent shade my skin is experiencing currently). What beauty products did you get for Christmas? Let me know below and don't forget to keep up with me on social media!
