Lightwaves At Salford Quays

Today I Love You

Location: The Quays, Salford Quays, Salford

Sitting on the edge of the city, The Quays is one of my favourite destinations in Manchester. Filled with shops, restaurants and sights to sink your teeth into, it's a shopper's paradise where the waterfront is in the forefront, making it a unique place to spend an afternoon or evening. This year, the much loved digital art show, Lightwaves has returned, to bring colour and energy to Salford. Fancying a cute lil' stroll somewhere on a Sunday evening, I headed over for food and a wander amongst the lights.

The festival is a super cute attraction to visit on a date night or if you're just fancying something a little bit different one evening. With loads of restaurants surrounding the water, you can pop in for something to eat or a couple of drinks to warm you up, or visit Media City where they have a little tent complete with Christmas trees, fairy lights and hot food and beverages to cosy up with. There are quite a few art pieces to see which include pieces from Blackpool Illuminations as well as some statement pieces, so get yourself down as the sun sets and light up those dark winter nights at The Quays!

I had serious Ellie Goulding 'Lights' vibes strolling around here - definitely going to have that song stuck in my head now for about a week! However, it's worth it for those beautiful sights. Have you visited Lightwaves this year at Salford Quays? The festival runs from 9th - 18th December and of course is free.
