#DareToMask | The Body Shop Superfood Masks

Location: The Body Shop, Trafford Centre, Manchester

Happy September! Literally, everyone is super excited that we're on the brink of Autumn, and as pumpkin season approaches us fast, for many of us it may be time to rethink our skincare routine. Last Wednesday I headed down to The Body Shop, located in Manchester's Trafford Centre, for a night of fizz and pampering and a chance to try out their new superfood face mask range. With the hot sunny weather beginning to fade away, it was time to put my skin through some much-needed TLC.

The Masks
The evening began with a short talk from one of the lovely Body Shop girls about each face mask and some of the incredible ingredients they contain inspired by superfoods. These ingredients, when used in your skincare routine, can really make a difference to your complexion leaving it clear, soft and glowing.

Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask
A vegan clay mask that uses bamboo charcoal and contains scrubby bits of green tea! I tried this at the event as I have oily skin and it left my face feeling clean, clear and rejuvenated.

British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask
Probably my favourite, British Rose is beautifully gentle and smells gorgeous, and one that I'd definitely enjoy wearing whilst I'm having a relaxing bubble bath! It's vegan and contains rose petals, rosehip oil, rose essence and aloe vera.

Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask
Another vegan mask containing Acai berry which has antioxidant properties and will be a brilliant mask for waking up your skin in the colder months.

Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask
A vegetarian ginseng mask which is soft and scrubby, using rice to gently exfoliate and made with sesame oil, an ingredient which is both anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. This mask is great for anybody seeking brighter skin this Autumn!

Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask
Honey is one of my favourite beauty ingredients. It's antibacterial, moisturising, soothing and healing, so your skin will feel seriously nourished after using this. If you suffer from dry skin particularly in winter, I'd definitely check this one out as it might give your skin that extra bit of comfort and care that it needs.

The Event
The evening was not only a fab opportunity to try out the masks but also to learn what they do and how they do it, so along with our pamper session we got the chance to indulge in some superfoods and have a glass of fizz. I enjoyed having a full skin care consultation, which included having my charcoal mask applied with one of The Body Shop's amazing face mask brushes, leaving my face feeling tingly and bright afterwards. I also had a little look around the shop to check out what else they have to offer, and from cleansing lotions and toner waters to body moisturisers and shower sorbets, there're loads to get your hands on to leave your skin feeling fresh and revived this Autumn.

I definitely feel like I'm way more prepared for what Autumn is about to throw at me, especially since I experience having combination skin which can be hard to keep control of if I don't have a thorough skin care routine in the colder months. Will you be masking up with The Body Shop's superfood face masks this Autumn? Don't forget to let me know which mask you're dying to try in the comment section below!
