Afternoon Tea With Country Attire

Location: Country Attire 10 Year Anniversary, Proper Tea @ Manchester Cathedral

It was a typical windy and wet British afternoon in Manchester, as I headed over to celebrate ten years of Country Attire at their blogger and press event. Guests were invited to Proper Tea Rooms, a quaint little tea room from the Teacup group, known in Manchester for their quirky vision of how to truly enjoy lunch and a proper cup of tea. On arrival, I was greeted with a glass of prosecco and a very intriguing gold envelope, sealed with Country Attire's logo which was not to be opened until later. Taking my seat, and with a few words from the brand, it was time for the tea party to begin!

High Tea
There was a range of soft and hot drinks, but I chose English Breakfast tea which came with two pots: one to pour and one to filter the tea, and a timer to make sure I achieved my perfect cuppa. All guests then received their finger food according to their dietary requirements; including cakes, scones, and sandwiches, and had plenty of time to chat with other guests and have a look at all the incredible designer wear.

AW Collection
Clothing and accessories including the likes of Barbour, Hunter and Ted Baker were on display, however, my favourite piece was this gorgeous Vivienne Westwood Derby Harlequin tartan backpack pictured above. I love the bright pastel shades which are bang on trend this season, and the subtle detail of the gold orb on the front keeps this quirky piece sleek and sophisticated. The collection also reflected the fading transition into Autumn, including Westwood scarves, Hunter wellingtons and bold boots from the likes of Dr. Marten and UGG. It was a great touch too that the coats were hanging on a rack ready for guests to try on as they wished.

Country Attire Treats
Throughout the event there were loads of chances to win prizes and as the event drew to a close it was time to open the special gold envelope we'd been given at the beginning. Some guests won brilliant prizes such as a Barbour bag, and I generously received a £10 voucher and a 10% off voucher to spend on Country Attire. Filled with tea and cake, it was time to head home, and as we left we were all treated to a goody bag which contained some great little gifts such as Hunter boot socks, a beautiful pin-striped scarf (perfect for Autumn!) and Country Attire merchandise including a pin and a bar of chocolate!

I really enjoyed the Country Attire event which was buzzing with excitement, with guests taking selfies using the events very own Snapchat filter and enjoying picking out their favourites from the collection. The event has definitely got me excited to shop A/W up and coming styles and it was great to be treated like a royal for the day enjoying a spot of afternoon tea! Happy Birthday, Country Attire!
