Location: East Side Gallery, Berlin, Germany
Located on Mühlenstraße, the East Side Gallery is a symbol of freedom. An open art gallery and a place to gather thoughts, it's a great place to get inspired and take some seriously Pinterest worthy pictures! The gallery exceeded my expectations, and me and Luke must have spent a good two hours walking down and viewing it all. As you can see from the photos, it's a feast for the eyes, and definitely somewhere I recommend visiting in person. Whether it's for selfies, a Facebook cover photo, or an inspirational image or quote that stays with you for life, you will definitely walk away having gained something...
Thinking Of Visiting? Things To Bear In Mind:
The East Side Gallery is a busy place located on a long main road, packed with tourists. I recommend wearing a bum bag or a cross-over bag you can keep on your body at all times to avoid any pick-pockets! It may also be worth getting a selfie stick, however not from one of the street sellers because it will probably break within a few hours, but if you don't feel too cringed out, I think it's good to get one before you go. There're a lot of cool photo opportunities and it gets boring after a while approaching strangers and teaching them how to use your camera. Finally, take a bottle of water. It's a long walk down and there's lots to see - not a walk you're likely to just do in 30 minutes. Taking a bottle of water to drink is wise, especially if like us you're visiting in the summertime as there is a serious lack of shade! On that note, don't forget your hat and sunglasses, and make sure you pop to the toilet before-hand too!
